8 Weeks

Brody is 8 weeks old today. I don't have any stats to report, but I can tell you that he's getting bigger and he's getting heavy to carry around. We had an early Easter celebration down at the farm on Sunday with my parents and he got his first Easter presents (I'm gladly eating the candy right now). We'll celebrate Easter next weekend in Ely with Barry's parents. Brody got an Easter basket from Josh and Whitney with his name and airplanes on it. He fits just perfectly in it so we had to take some photos. Next year I bet he'll be carrying it around himself. Right now he just gets really excited when he finds his thumb (I wonder if he'll be a thumb sucker). The last two Mondays we've been painting our upstairs bluish colors (Fountain Blue and Northern Places to be specific) so it's good bye maroon and forest green. Mostly today Barry has been painting, not so much me. Naturally, Brody has been such a big help!

Lots of Pictures

It's been a week so it's time for some new photos. I'm not a big talker, so we'll let the photos do most of that. Brody turns 2 months next week, yay! His 2 month check up isn't until 2 weeks after that though, so I'll give you his specs then. This past week he had his first mini tractor ride (not a fan quite yet as you can see), attended his first all girl party (my cousin, Jesse's baby shower), met the rest of the Kuklok family, took naps in his crib, wore some cool outfits with airplanes, and probably did some other great baby stuff.

Fun Times

A few photos for you:
Brody with a new hat on from Sean and Heather, plus some booties that Sean picked out and fit just right, and his brown overalls from Josh and Whit, which are a little wide, but just the right length! The second shot is an answer to the long time question, "why do baby clothes have pockets" to which I say, "so they can carry their pacifier around for when the need it next!" I threw in a bathtime picture in case you were wondering if Brody is eating well....yes he is! I've also been trying to capture his smile on camera, which is tricky with a camera delay, but the last one is pretty close.
Yesterday Barry, Brody and I went for a long walk with Grandma Annie and Cousin Claire, it was so nice out. Today I went to Olive Garden to have lunch for my birthday with Audrey, Kelly, my mom and Claire. Soup, salad and breadsticks!

Saturday, March 13, 2010

Here is a picture of Brody sound asleep with Barry on the couch Tuesday night. I gave Brody a bath right after the picture and he wasn't happy that I woke him up! Sometimes he likes the bath though, so maybe it's a combo of his mood and how perfect I get the water temp. Unfortunately a couple of hours after his bath, some stomach bug hit me. Barry was a champ and stayed home from work on Wednesday to take care of Brody (and me too, thanks for the Gatorade run!). I haven't had a stomach bug since age 5 as far as I can remember, weird! Thankfully Brody and Barry have escaped getting sick thus far from what I can tell.
Now it's Saturday and I was worried about not having anything to do. As it turns out, Brody is going through a growth spurt and my worries of a boring day are over. It isn't sunny outside, but we still went for a walk around the block and he fell asleep like a champ thankfully! Thinking about him growing makes me excited for his next doc appt to see how much he weighs, but we couldn't get in until he's 2 1/2 months, so I have 4 weeks to wait.
The picture below, well I just like the colors (oh the colors, you wouldn't believe the colors...reminds me of the comments from Avatar fans). The blanket he's on Audrey made and while that's not the fancy side of the blanket, it sure showed up cool in a picture.

First Zoo Visit

Brody went to the MN Zoo for the first time on Saturday. We were with Audrey, Josh, Whitney, and Claire. Brody was so good! He slept the whole time and while I guess this might not be the point of the zoo, he's only 5 weeks old, so I gave him a break. It was fun to see Claire at 10 months old enjoy it so much and stare at the animals. I can't wait until Brody does that so I get a chance to share my love of animals with him! The first picture is Broden in his "going to the zoo outfit" and he's on his giraffe mat (I had to take a picture of the outfit because it's a newborn size and now he's too big for it).
Brody turned 5 weeks on Monday and we got to watch Claire Monday and Tuesday. I was a little worried about coordinating the schedules of a 5 week old and 10 month old, but it went really well! Claire stopped and looked at Brody every time he cried or made a peep so she really must be noticing him now. He didn't so much notice her, but I know they'll be great friends and maybe be running around enjoying the zoo together soon!

Our First Walk

It was finally warm enough to go outside with Brody for a walk! What a nice day outside. I don't know that Brody really enjoyed the walk, but Kiah sure did. Brody was so exhausted that he fell asleep in my arms snoring later (see video-sorry it's sideways, I'm not sure how to flip it).

1 Month

Brody is now a month old! I went to the dentist while Barry hung out with Brody long enough to have to feed him. The little man took the bottle like a champ!
