We love him to pieces though because he walks around all day long and laughs at the most random things and babbles to himself. Here's just a tiny video clip from my phone today. I was eligible for an upgrade today so I took the opportunity to get the durable phone that doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but will hopefully last!

From Laughter to Crying
This kid can go from 0 to 60 way too quickly. He will be giggling like crazy, then if he sees someone in the kitchen he starts crying and whining like we never feed him! I have to sneak eat when he's awake. I'm not sure where we went wrong. We want him to eat what we eat whenever possible instead of forever making him his own special meal. To do this, we feed him what we're eating so he knows he usually gets to eat what we're eating. In doing so, I think we've created a monster!

Brody 1 Year Photos
I realized that Brody turned one and I should probably take "professional" photos for that milestone. Since I don't do professional photos, Barry and I just snapped some. They're aren't fantastic and I'm glad I didn't pay someone to do them at this age since I can't imagine Brody sitting still for more than 1 second.

Phone Woes
So today I was trying to occupy Brody while shopping for a dress winter coat for Barry to wear to doctor stuff. I chose my phone to occupy him. Boy was he happy pretending to talk on it with it up to his ear. And then I discovered he broke it. You would think a phone that's... lasted 3 years, been dropped many times on concrete and in the house, spent a trip into the toilet (don't ask), been flying through my car when I slam on the brakes, and been bounced around at the bottom of my backpack...would survive 3 minutes with a 12 month old, right?
Nope!

Super Bowl & 1 Year Check Up
Brody celebrated his 2nd Super Bowl in style....Packers style! Uncle Paco was a little pumped that the Pack pulled it off!
Today Brody had his one year check up. He got three shots and a finger prick, none of which he liked. He tried to eat the band-aid on his finger so I just put his mittens on for awhile. That added to his swollen gums, he's not the happiest camper today. I can't tell for sure and neither could the Doc, but I think his molars are just about through in one spot, if not already poking out.
The Brodster weighed in at 23 # 8 oz, just like his daddy guessed. This is right about the 50-70 percentile. The nurse tried to measure him and just put down 29 1/2 inches, I'm pretty sure he's at least 30 since I was holding one end of the tape measure. Even the doctor commented on the number and said he looked much taller than that. In any case, he's about the 50th percentile and perfectly healthy! I love him to pieces.

Happy First Golden Birthday, Broden Riley!
...now one year later, you're my handsome, lovable, snuggly Brody. Walking around like crazy, falling down and getting right back up again, investigating everything, climbing over every obstacle, eating anything and everything, and happy as can be!
Here Brody is after his birthday party in the same vest he came home in the hospital in, only this one is 18 months, just slightly bigger than his NB size one last year ;)
I love you Brody, lots and lots. You melt my heart when you collapse onto my shoulder and fall asleep. ~Mama
