Thanksgiving

Brody & Maverick on Thanksgiving.  We went down to my parent's place to celebrate Thanksgiving at the farm.  It was oh so yummy!

Puzzles, Exersaucer, Helping Daddy & more

What?!

I got an exersaucer from my coworker and Maverick just loves it!  I call it his little command center.

Brody has fallen in love with puzzles thanks to Sean & Heather.  We were at their place one day and they had a smaller 25 piece puzzle of Buzz Lightyear.  He seemed to really get into it so I dug out some puzzles at home.  He's been steadily improving ever since.  These wooden ones in the picture are unique (Topozoo), thanks to Goodwill for that find! 

Thank you photobucket for allowing me to continue posting pictures (and to Whitney for the tip!).  Last weekend was probably the last nice weekend for weather so Barry and Brody went outside to work.  Brody loves helping so I can't wait for the day we have a nice garden!

Cowboy Brody

Seeing this little boy in that outfit walk from Omi's car into our house was so cute last night after work!  I just love him in his cowboy outfit with that plaid shirt and his "noisy cow boots".  I guess the cows got out at the farm the other day, so it was sure good that he had on his "cow boots"!  My Grandpa Mieska would have been so proud of his boots, they remind me of the boots he always wore.

Zoo Visit

These are cell phone pictures (the last few posts have been) since my camera was in the car.  I had Monday off for Veterans' Day and so did my cousin, Jesse.  We met up with our boys at the MN Zoo in the morning.  The boys had lots of fun seeing all of the indoor animals, the MN trail, and the playing in the bee hive!  The zoo was really quiet and the boys all behaved well, so overall a successful trip!  Brody and Andrew had fun seeing the bear.  When we got to the exhibit, the bear came up to the window and walked back and forth so we got a close up look.  Ethan and Maverick both were champs hanging out in their car seats in the strollers:)

Thumb Sucker

My little thumb sucker.  It's nice he can soothe himself sometimes, let's just hope he's not 5 years old and we're trying to break the habit!

Sh.....stuff happens;)

 I have a baby, I have a blog.  You know this picture was bound to turn up sooner or later.  In good times and in bad, right?  Forever I love this little boy though!  Doesn't he clean up so nicely?  And always sucking a thumb or finger to calm himself down too.  This was my morning surprise on Saturday while Barry was working.  At least the whole family started out the day with showers or baths, so we were all clean as a whistle!

Re-election!

Last Tuesday we headed down to the farm to wait for the results to come in on election day for my dad.  At 11:30 pm, the final counts were in and he won the re-election!  Go Dad!!  4 more years as Rice County Commissioner in district 5.

Teeth & more...

 Last weekend we babysat Claire & Max for an evening.  All went well and the kids had fun playing together.  We got them all in their jammies and Barry read them pages from a Richard Scarry book, such a captive audience!

 We're borrowing Heather's (to be Mara's soon) exersaucer and Maverick just loves it!  Eventually he gets tired of it, but it provides a lot of entertainment and, therefore, a bit of peaceful freedom for us to get things done like make supper.

 Did I mention he's teething?  He cut a tooth last weekend.  Drool on, little man, drool on!

Maverick just loves Brody and so Brody loves Maverick.  If Brody talks to him, sings to him, smiles at him, or pays any attention at all to him, then Maverick is all smiles:)

We went trick or treating with Josh & Whitney and crew over in their neighborhood.  At first Brody only went to the door with me right next to him and then would drop his bucket in panic when a person reached towards him to give him panic.  Then a few houses in he was an old pro!  Every house we left he would raise up his hand and say "let's do this many more!".  Mav was a trooper too.  Barry held Mav for some of it and then headed back to base to hand out candy.
