Trick or Treat

I was sad to miss Brody's trick or treating this year since it was the first time he could walk and had any concept of what was happening. Luckily Omi, Papa, Auntie Heather ("ya-ya"), and Uncle Sean (aka Paco, "Papo") were there to take him around! Brody had such a great day today! He spent 2 hours in the morning with Papa feeding the cows on the farm. He had so much fun that he took a 3 hour nap in the afternoon until Claire came to visit him at the farm and had to wake him up! He had a visit from Josh, Whitney, Claire and Max at the farm. Then he got to go trick or treating around the countryside to see Grandma Camilla, Grandpa Don, and the aunts/uncles along Chester Avenue. I hear that he really got into it once he saw that people were putting stuff in his bag. It goes without saying that he got a cookie from Grandma Camilla! After that he went to Lonsdale to visit Paco and Heather and then went trick or treating in their circle at about 4 places. It was fun to see the pictures and I was happy to hear how much fun he had! He was the cutest little Zoo Keeper on the block! If you've ever lived in the country, you know it doesn't take long to fill up a bag with gifts, treats, and stuffed animals on Halloween!

Happy Halloween

Barry will be back at school tomorrow and I have an exam tomorrow night after work, so we'll both miss Brody's second Halloween. Have no fear though, Omi to the rescue! Omi will be dressing Brody up for Halloween and showing him off a bit for trick or treating. Today we tried on his costume so we could see it and he makes a pretty cute Zoo Keeper/Safari man! He was digging his hat too.
We got a Halloween cupcake decorating kit in the mail from Uncle Zach and Aunt Aimee so today we dug in. Brody had a blast helping mix things up and doing quality taste checks. His magic cupcake can be seen in the bottom picture. I don't recommend eating that one!

Tractors and Monsters

Papa gave Brody a Farmall tractor when he was born. It's just like Papa's tractor only mini. We finally opened it last weekend and he's been in love ever since. It even came with a wagon! I found some green square foam blocks that we had already and called them "hay". He loves to load up the tractor wagon with hay just like Papa. He wants to take the tractor with him everywhere. After nap or night time, he wakes up and it isn't long before he's looking for his tractor.

Once again, Brody on the iPad shortly after waking up. He's watching tractors of course!

Today was Max's 1st birthday party. It was a monster themed party so Brody dressed accordingly. He looks mighty proud! It was a great party with lots of awesome food and even a homemade monster cake. I think Brody was quite impressed with all of Max's new toys, including a tractor and wheelbarrow! He'll be excited for daycare on Tuesday.

Happy 30th Birthday Barry!

February 2010

September 2011 ~ Never too old for a good snuggle.

Happy 30th birthday to Barry today! Brody is saving up his snuggles for you this weekend! We can't wait to see you.

GG & Tractors

Brody playing with GG the day before she left for Arizona. He's sure going to miss seeing GG at the farm, but we hope to use Skype this winter while she's away.

Brody LOVES tractors and that's downplaying the obsession! He knows that he can watch tractor videos on Barry's iPad and requests them non-stop. The only time I ever see him sit still is when he's watching tractors. He'll sit there and watch a real tractor bale hay, squares, rounds, anything, then he'll watch the other tractor move bales around. Luckily we have access to real tractors at Papa's farm. This is one lucky boy to get to go for a tractor ride any time he wants!

Fall Visit to the Zoo

Looking at the moo-cows.

Brody is hugging Max. I promise he's being "gentle".

Claire hugging Brody, so cute!

Last weekend we went to the zoo with Josh, Whitney, Claire and Max. The kids had fun checking out the penguins, monkeys, and zoo animals. We also got to see some giant pumpkins and take a tractor ride.

Hearts, Boys, and Teeth

Ask Brody "what does a heart say" and he will happily tell you "dup dup" while motioning his hand over his heart. Cutest thing ever! He also loves the extra stethoscope we have and will listen to his heart or ours.

The weekend before last we went to Barry's aunt & uncle's place to see some of the Park family. Brody got to play with Alex who is 3. Alex showed him all about Thomas the Train and they had lots of fun playing with all sorts of toys. It was fun to catch up with some of the Park side. I'll have to post a picture of Brody's new quilt from Aunt Rach. It is so perfect for Brody's big boy room and bed next year, filled with airplanes, puppies, baseballs and more!

Brody loves to brush his teeth. This is only exciting because I am sure that soon enough he will fight me everyday on brushing teeth.

Gymnastics

Getting his feet up while hanging onto the little bar.

Kicking Mr. Aaron's hand while walking on the high beam.

Sometimes (well quite often) Brody falls down.

But he always gets back up again!

Mr. Aaron helping Brody walk across the beam.

Daddy helping Brody walk across the skinnier low beam.

Rings! Nice tummy Bro-Bro.

It was fun to have Barry at gymnastics last week. Brody was able to show him all of the great things he gets to do.

He's a little leery of this bouncy thing.

It's been fun so far this fall taking Brody to gymnastics once a week. It gives us an activity to do where he's sure to be in a good mood at night with me for a change! Sometimes cousin Claire is in his class too and it's fun to see the two of them explore together. At the end of each class he sits down in a line with the other kids like a perfect little boy waiting to get a stamp on each foot and hand, sometimes he's so still it's like I'm dreaming :)
