Brody the Pilot

Today is Halloween and Brody dressed up as a pilot, a very handsome pilot. We got to visit quite a few people for his first trick or treat experience. He really enjoyed chewing on the wrappers.

Brody is wishing you all a great Halloween (in a few hours)! He's discovered that he really loves pumpkins. I am sure he will look great in his pilot costume tomorrow! Today we took Brody's 9 month pictures and a few family shots. Pictures of all this to come this week.
Brody would also like to remind you not to come trick or treating at our house. As he so nicely demonstrates in the photo, it's too hard to get down to answer the door!

Fun Weekend!

This weekend we went to a little orchard that had a pumpkin patch and corn maze. It was a fun little family outing and Brody loved being outside and for some reason he thought the pumpkins were quite hilarious. More pictures to come of the corn maze and pumpkin patch. We also finally got to see auntie Heather and uncle Sean's new house in Lonsdale, which is an amazing place!
Barry's birthday is Wednesday so he got a toy box for our living room as a gift from my parents. Brody discovered this new treasure and loves to stand by it and play with the toys inside!
The other picture is poor tuckered out Brody who fell asleep in his walker in the bathroom while I was drying my hair and getting ready for work. This is the first time he has fallen asleep while not in his crib or being held/rocked in forever! Seeing him sleeping there makes all those midnight hours of being awake all melt away. I sure love the little bugger.
Oh yeah, Brody has 8 teeth now! I'm really hoping we have a couple month off before he gets his molars. If you look closely, you can see the huge gap in his 2 front teeth in the picture where I'm holding him. Poor guy is going to need braces just like his mama!

Claire & Brody

I've taken a couple of pictures from my mom of Claire and Brody to post on my blog since I don't often get photos of the two of them. They spend 5 days a week together while I'm at work so I rarely get to see them play, but I know they're great buds! Pretty soon Brody will have a boy cousin (within the next 3 weeks) and he won't be seeing his cousin Claire nearly as often while she stays home with her "mama" and new baby brother for three months. Grandma Annie will have to come up with some entertaining activities for Brody.

Last weekend Brody and I met up with Barry in Hinckley. We stayed with a friend and her family (Katie, Shawn, Jaedyn, and Gabby) and Barry attempted to get a deer bow hunting. Brody loved having Jaedyn and Gabby constantly paying attention to him!

Swimming Fun in Iowa

Swimming Lessons and Iowa Visit

We had swimming lessons on Saturday morning before heading to Iowa for the weekend. You're probably wondering why we're in swimming lessons with an 8-month-old. Well I really love water and swimming so it's a fun activity to do and it gives Brody a chance to learn to love water too. After swimming lessons, we drove 3 hours to Iowa where a lot of the Mieska crew met up (my mom's family). We had a great weekend swimming at the hotel and visiting outside in the warm October weather! It was great to see everyone and to have all of the kiddos together.
