Playing Outside

On Sunday we went over to the Docken's house for a BBQ. Brody got to play with Claire. Max has a few months to go before he's in the mix, in the meantime it was fun to see Brody and Claire enjoy some time outside!

Brody Gets a Haircut

Before: Yes, I know you can't really see it, but in real life, I can!

Cause this seems safe right?

He did quite well just standing there in the bathroom. He didn't walk away. He did keep trying to look back to see what was going on, mostly because he's scared of vacuums and the shop-vac is pretty loud. As you can see he was quite bored and ready for nap time.

After: Much better! No poof of hair in the back, no long hair sticking over his ears. Unfortunately, still hardly any hair on the top of his head.

Barry finally agreed that it was time to cut Brody's hair. It may seem odd to even consider cutting his hair when you look at pictures of his nearly bald head. He had this weird hair poof in the way back which was quickly turning into a rat-tail. Now a nearly bald toddler starting a mullet is just not working for me. You can't see it too much in pictures because he has such light and fine hair.

Barry cut his hair in only a fashion that he would think of. He got out his clippers with the 5/8" and then he got out the Shop-Vac. You see, Brody's hair is so fine, he used the Shop-Vac to pull it away from his head so that he could get the clippers to work. The great thing is that it also created zero mess. Now the question is, will Brody's hair grow in like mine or Barry's? If it's anything like mine, we may have to actually pay to get a big boy haircut down the line. If it's like Barry's.....years of daddy using the clippers at 5/8" hear we come!

This is our bedtime routine. We used to read a story (and sometimes still do), but usually he prefers to cut to the chase.

The End of Audrey's Visit

Here are a few more from Audrey's visit.

We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo...

I don't know why, but little kids seem to love the aquarium part of the zoo the most. I'm just a little kid at heart because that is still my favorite part.

Omi, Audrey, Bethanie, Claire, Max, and Brody went to the zoo. I took a day off of work while Audrey was in town so we could all go. You would think a 1:1 ratio would make it a breeze, right? Funny how that wasn't the case. It sure was a lot of fun though!
