Full Week of Daycare and Work

This week was my first full week back at work, good times. Barry had a full day with Brody on Monday and they learned a lot about each other. He had dinner ready when I got home from work, so it must've gone pretty well! Wednesday Brody went to the farm with Grandma Annie and Claire, I hear that Great Grandma was there for some feedings, some naps, and perhaps a diaper blowout! Audrey visited Brody too (Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday!) and helped with some kid wrangling. Thursday Brody rolled over for Grandma Annie and Audrey, three times! Now he can do it no problem, so it was no trouble to catch it on video today. I guess Claire really knows Brody now and I think she's getting a kick out of him already. I can only imagine what good buds they'll be in just a short few months once Brody starts moving around.
He does a lot of babbling, telling all sorts of good stories, his favorite sound being, "hi." He sat in Claire's Bumbo seat for the first time at her First birthday party on Sunday. He gets very excited when you look at him as you get closer. He got to face out in the Baby Bjorn for the first time. He made it known that he has outgrown diaper size #1 via a few blowouts! He's getting so good at holding his head up (see the picture of him looking at his toy from a different angle). He sure can sleep a lot....last night he was out just before 8, but I wiggled him around so he'd eat around 8:30, after which we put him in his crib and then he woke up to eat at 4. I put him back in his crib and then I had to wake him to get ready for daycare at 6:30. My mom said he continued to sleep there until 10:15. Crazy!
And to sum it up....we love, love, love him!

Needless to say, Brody was held all day long by various people!

End of Leave, Back to Work for a Day

I went to the zoo one last time this past week and this time Brody was awake for some of it! We also did a little photo shoot with Claire and Brody in their jean jackets and jeans. Thursday was my last day off and we spent some time at the mall with Audrey, then went on a long walk with Barry and grilled out on our deck. I went back to work on Friday and dropped Brody off at Grandma Annie daycare at Josh and Whitney's. My grandma Mieska was there to help. From what I hear, Brody was a champ and his Great Grandma Mieska (Nana as we will now call her) got to hold him and feed him for the most part! Cousin Claire is getting better and better with Brody, so I imagine the two of them will be great friends in no time. Brody is back to Grandma Annie daycare on Tuesday. This Monday will be Barry's first full day with him. Work went just fine of Friday, nothing too earth shattering. Today Brody and I met Finn for the first time (my cousin Jere and Gina's baby), he's a cute little guy and feels like a feather weight compared to Brody...it's amazing how two baby boys only 11 days apart can be so different.

The Last Week

This is my last week off, I have three days left and I'm back to work on Friday! I'm not all torn up about it, but everyone else I have ever talked to dreaded the day and wished for more time, so perhaps it'll hit me on Friday or a few weeks after going back. Brody is constantly changing. He sits in his bouncy chair and stares at his hand, slowly bringing it to his mouth, and getting so excited when he succeeds. He talks a lot, especially when you talk to him. When he gets really excited, he gets even louder and kicks his legs like he's in a bicycle race. We went to the zoo again, you'll be shocked to hear he slept through the whole thing...again! It's a good thing Grandpa Jeff has a farm or the poor kid might never get to see animals. This week he got to meet Great Grandma Mieska for the first time and we also had lunch with his Great Grandma Marian who hadn't seen him in awhile. Time flies and he changes quickly. I should lift weights at work if I'm going to be able to continue to carry the big guy!

Check Up

Brody is 10 weeks old today. We went to the doctor for his 2 month check-up. He weighs 13 pounds 1 ounces, yes folks, that's a 7 ounces increase from last Saturday! That puts him in the 75-90 percentile. He's 23 inches long (50 percentile) and his little head is 15 1/2 inches (25-50 percentile). He was first given an oral vaccine which he took like a champ (probably thought it was some more food, the little porker), then he had 4 shots complete with camo band-aids. It wasn't until the 3rd one that he whimpered a little. In total, he cried about 5-10 seconds, what a champ. He's in his Twins onesie that Grandma Annie gave him yesterday, all prepared for the home opener!
This week we've had a couple of play dates with Claire and we can really tell that she starting to get better with him. She definitely pays more attention to him (can't blame her cause he's grunting and making noise all the time) and she seems to be better understanding the whole "gentle" concept! We went down to the farm a couple of times and took a nice long walk with Grandma Annie and Great Aunt Sheryl while Barry and Grandpa Jeff went on a motorcycle ride, man I love that stroller!

Easter

This past week we went on some walks and enjoyed the nice weather. We also grilled out and ate on our deck furniture for the first time this season with Audrey. Brody got to enjoy the deck in his bouncy chair. We had our first road trip up to Ely for Easter weekend! Brody road in the car like a champ both ways as did Kiah. Brody did some good smiling and cooing to show off to Grandma Cindy, Grandpa Steve, and Uncle Eric! We got to weigh him on Cindy's postal scale and he's 12 pounds, 10 ounces, um, wow:) Barry and I measured him tonight and he seems to be 23 inches long. Won't be long before he's outgrown all of his 0-3 month clothes, I'm sure outgrowing the car seat is just around the corner.
