Cutie

How cute is this little boy with those little cheekers?

Power Wheels Harley, just how every 16 month old should start learning to drive!

Fishing with daddy in the living room.

Brody was so cute today. He wanted his blanket and little pillow to come with him to daycare, we settled on just the pillow. Then when I got home this evening, he was still snuggling up to his little pillow and blanket which Omi said he insisted on having her take it out of his crib for him. Cute little bugger loves to snuggle every once in awhile! He's also starting to say more and more in a way that I can understand.

I had a 10 day break from school and today started a summer course. Sometimes I think I'm crazy only because I know that I am not super woman nor am I super mom. My professor said to us today that if we want an A or B that this accelerated 7 week hybrid classroom/online course should take 30-40 hours each week of our time between labs and online lectures and then studying to commit it all to memory permanently for future use. Well I say I already have full-time job, a toddler, and a life to enjoy this summer so I'm going to aim for 15 hours/week max and I don't want an A, I'm going to get an A. I figure if I say it on my blog, I'll be held to it, right? I might have to get creative and watch lectures in fast forward. She recommended making flashcards and taking them out whenever you have 20 minutes like waiting for a dentist appointment....I better make a bunch of medical appointments in the near future for that to be effective :)
Don't get me wrong I'm not really complaining in case you're wondering, I'm just getting it down in writing that I will do this and I will do it well!

Foam Letter Fun

Claire, Max, and Omi came over for a bit on Tuesday to play before Barry went back to Duluth. They got a kick out of the foam squares the line the floor. Brody thinks the "U" makes a lovely headband. Claire was so excited when she learned it was the alphabet that they had to sing the alphabet song over and over.

The good, the bad and the ugly!

We'll start with the good picture. You gotta start 'em young!

Happy little stinker pants! He took out every diaper right before I needed to run out the door with him for work.

Oh our perfect little son...yes, he does throw a good tantrum!

The Zoo!

I agree Brody, cows are way cooler.

Notice Max sleeping off to the side.

She was diggin them right up until they started to eat her stroller!

"Hey look dad, it's Omi and Claire!
He's trying so hard to pull himself up.

There are 2 slides kids, why are you both on the same one tackling each other?

The smiles say it all.

Makes sense to me. I never understood why those silly kids went down the slide instead of climbing up it.

Barry and Brody met up with Omi, Claire, and Max at the MN Zoo this afternoon. The kids got to see the farm animals and had fun playing outside on the playground.

Sunshine & Brody's Big Boy Table

Enjoying snack time in the sunshine on his very own table. He's eating grapes, no shocker there!
Loving the sunshine. This was last weekend since this weekend mostly we've been watching rain and hail.

Playing on the Deck

He loves his water table...right up until he dumps a bucket of water all over himself and realizes that he's soaking wet and fully dressed!

Baby Teva sandals, cutest find! You try finding shoes for that flat and fat foot! His feet get so hot in regular shoes that they're nearly soaking wet at the end of the day. (I love how his "shorts" come down to his ankle.)

Spaghetti

While Brody loves spaghetti, I must say that it is not my favorite meal for him to eat! Actually, he only loves the meat part, the noodles he can't stand so he flings them all over the place in an effort to get them out of his mouth and off of his hands.

Great Find

"Come on dad, I go by Brody, not Broden! Here's the Y you need."

I found the whole alphabet in foam pieces at a garage sale. They're in great condition too!

15 Months

Brody was 15 months old yesterday! He had a doctor visit on Friday and weighs 25#! I can't remember how tall he is, I think she said 31 1/4". He took his 2 shots like a champ, just a couple of whimpers per shot. He hates the stethoscope part more than the shots!
2 funny questions that came up from the doctor:
-Does he respond to his name? Um, like all of the time or has he ever? Cause there was that one time when he did, but usually, like most kids, he's too wrapped up in his own fun to stop and listen to me. At least I know that he knows his name even if he doesn't respond!
-Does he sit and listen to you read stories? Um, like the whole book? Cause we usually do page 1, page 2, then we're flipping it to the back and we're done! He has about a 5 second sitting on your lap limit!

All kidding aside, he's such a good boy for us. He's getting more and more flexible as we drag him around to places and screw up his schedule. He understands so many commands, so when Barry tells him to go get your hockey stick and the ball, Brody will run over and find them both. He says and signs "more" like crazy. I'd like to reward him for learning this and what it means, but I finally had to cut him off from the banana bread, no matter how cute he was saying "more", signing "more", and point to the whole loaf of banana bread on the table that he darn well knew was not "all gone" as I was trying to claim.
Next doctor visit....not until 2 years, wahooooooooooo!!!!!!!
