Flying By

Life if flying by...Brody is a crawling maniac now! He's already investigating the gate latches. Today I watched him use the bottom stair to climb into a standing position at Josh and Whitney's! He cut another tooth yesterday, so that makes 5 officially. His finger is still in his mouth and he continues to drool like crazy so I'm sure another one is on the way. I've never seen a kid drool quite as much as Brody, he's pretty easy to find...just follow the trail of drool! He was sick last week for the first time and luckily he didn't get it as bad as us, he just had some red puffy eyes.
This weekend we head to Duluth again for Barry's White Coat Ceremony at med school. I'm hoping Brody cooperates again in the long car ride!

Duluth Visit

Friday at bedtime I drove up to Duluth and Brody slept the whole way! Brody and I visited Kelly (Audrey's sister) who's a sophomore at UMD for the morning while Barry went to an orientation thing. Brody had his first visit to a dorm room and must've found the beds quite comfortable because he had no problem napping away! We stayed with Barry at the Hieb's place and Brody enjoyed staring at the puppy, Molly. He also got to meet someone his own size, Hendy, and the two were very cute! Brody took a liking to Hendy's hammer :)
Barry, Brody and I went down the the lake Sunday afternoon and walked around for a bit enjoying the nice weather. I was worried Brody would be awake and bored the car ride home, but he slept from 3pm almost til I got home to Apple Valley. I think he was being nice because the rest of the week he's been up for a good portion of the night. I think it's a combo of teething (he cut the front top 2 teeth this week) and getting sick (he caught his first cold). Milestone of the week....he crawled on Sunday! Next post I imagine I'll be writing how I wish I could go back to before he could move around because tonight he crawled across the living room.

Anniversary

Monday is our anniversary. The big 2?! Barry will be inside in Duluth taking a quiz and being lectured to at medical school, I will be inside at the Science Museum in St. Paul learning how to use Access more efficiently. Oh how life if funny sometimes! Happy Anniversary Barry:) Brody and I are lucky to have you!
This weekend Brody and I went up to Duluth to visit Barry. Lots of good experiences for Brody, so more on that later this week.

Kiah

Last weekend our pug, Kiah went to her new home in Wisconsin. We love her dearly and will miss her because we enjoyed having her as part of our family for the last two years. She's now in a home with another pug her same age and with people who have more time to hang out with her. With our temporary split life between Duluth and Apple Valley it was clear that Kiah needed more attention and wanted to play and go for walks more than our schedules made possible. I imagine she's living the high life now! We've seen pictures and she looks pretty happy already!

Reading a Book

Barry is trying to get Brody to love reading at a young age. I'll admit he does love books...yup, he really loves to eat books. We'll work on that ;)

Pink!

Everleigh (my cousin, Scott and his wife Ami's little girl) turned one and they celebrated with an all around pink party on Sunday! Even Brody wore pink (thanks to Great Aunt Sue)! He matched Grandpa Jeff in their pink Polo shirts. Brody got all sorts of great experiences at the party, including some cookie action from Grandma Annie and some tootsie pop action from Grandpa Jeff....oh dear, what have we started?!

I Love Today

So I decided that I love today. I love that my mom showed up at my house to watch Brody and I got to just walk out the door to work. I love that she gets to give Brody his bath because he loves it so much. I love it that she was helping me out with some chores at home while she's there. I love that I walked outside today and it was just the perfectly crisp Fall day weather and that the nice air freshened up my house. I love that Barry is coming home today the same time I get home. I love it that it's the start of a 3 day weekend together. I love that my sister and brother-in-law are moving to Minnesota (well into storage mostly for now) and that it won't be 100 degrees while we're lifting boxes. I love that I went to the Post Office and there was no line and no crabby people. If I had a nice caramel apple from the orchard to enjoy on this crisp day that would just put me over the top!

MN State Fair

Last Sunday we went to the State Fair because summer just isn't over without some cheese curds and a pronto pup! It was Brody's first fair experience and last day to see Audrey before she headed back to WA for grad school. He was a champ and napped through a lot of it. We borrowed a backpack thing to put him in and he just loved the thing...best invention ever!
