Hendy & Brody in Ely

Hendy and Brody had a chance to play together for a bit in Ely. Hendy is 1 month older than Brody. I think they warmed up to each other after a bit. Mostly they bonded over chips and dip!

Ely

Barry asked Brody if he wanted to snuggle and he did! This is just before nap.

Helping grandma load up the wheelbarrow. Oh if he only knew how many years of cutting and hauling wood he has ahead of him...

Old school toys, what could be better?!

His new adorable (and annoying) way to get people to do what he wants is to grab your hand and pull you.

On grandma and grandpa's deck in Ely. Happy boy in the morning.

Last week Cindy came down to Apple Valley to babysit Brody all week while my mom was out after foot surgery. I think Brody and Cindy had a good week from the sound of it. On Friday we (Cindy, Brody, Marian-Barry's grandma, and I) drove up to Ely and met Barry up there after he was done with class in Duluth. We had a fun weekend doing all sorts of playing and exploring. I have too many pictures to weed out so I'll post some today and even more each day this week.

S'mores Cookies

Just a quick note that I made S'mores cookies and they were very yummy fresh out of the oven. After they finished, I cut them into squares. I'm a better baker than cooker. I just don't like the pressure of cooking a meal. At least when you screw up dessert, everyone still ends up full.

MN State Fair

Barry, Brody, my friend Kelly and I all went to the Minnesota State Fair on Sunday for a few hours. We some some moo-cows and some horses, but as you can see the chocolate shake was really the best part!

Webster Harvest Day

Saturday we went down to Webster Harvest Days to hang out. There was a bike show, but I'm pretty sure Brody stole the show with his own Harley! We had to unhook the battery so he'd stop driving it around. Hopefully soon he'll learn how to avoid crashes now that he's mastered flooring it!

Camping in West Salem, WI

Enjoying the playground.

Sean looks a bit worried for Brody's safety!

Never too young for yard games.

Of course he loved the golf cart!

Last weekend we went to Wisconsin and camped with Sean and Heather in their camper. They were brave enough to take Brody all day Friday and set up camp while we were at work. After work, we rode the Harley down and joined them. Brody was already sleeping when we got there and Sean and Heather claimed that he did great all day, even taking 2 naps. They say he whines a lot less when we're not around, go figure! He slept from 7:30pm to 7:30am the first night, then 7:30pm to nearly 8:30am the second night. Wow, we need to go camping more often! I think the combo of playing all day outside and the loud white noise of the camper fan really helped him sleep. The campground had great playground equipment and pools, including a shallow toddler pool. Brody got to swim all three days, we just didn't get any photos. Overall the camping with Brody was a great success and we all had a good time. Did I mention the great bakery we went to for breakfast on Saturday?! Oh and Brody is really starting to get along with puppies. The previous weekend he warmed up to Uncle Zach and Aunt Aimee's puppy, and while camping he was just fine with Uncle Sean and Aunt Heather's puppy! Progress :)
Wednesday my mom had surgery on both feet. GG has been at the farm while Barry's working down there this week. Next week Grandma Cindy will be down all week to watch Brody and I am sure they will both have lots of fun together! Then after Labor Day Omi will hopefully be feeling better and back with the kiddos again.
Agenda for this weekend is Webster Harvest Days, State Fair, and I even get to babysit my niece and nephew, Claire and Max for a bit. Should be a fun weekend!
